Business Treasury Management
At 0.50% APY, $6.5 million in business cash earns approximately $32,500 per year. A properly structured government-backed treasury strategy at current rates can generate 8 to 9× more — while preserving every dollar of principal.

From our first conversation to your first T-Bill purchase, the process is designed to be seamless — and to keep you fully in control.
We build a written Cash Management Policy Statement that defines your liquidity requirements, investment guidelines, and T-Bill maturity schedule aligned to your business calendar.
We divide your business cash reserves into two purpose-built accounts at Altruist Financial LLC, each optimized for its role in your treasury program.
Your operating reserve and near-term liquidity layer.
Rather than tying all your capital to a single maturity date, we spread your investment across multiple T-Bill tranches — each maturing at a different point in time. Every quarter, a tranche matures and the principal plus interest becomes available for business expenditures or reinvestment.
The example below illustrates a $5 million T-Bill ladder structured for a business with $6.5 million in total reserves and a 24-month deployment timeline. Yields shown are U.S. Treasury rates as of July 29, 2026.

Under federal law (31 U.S.C. § 3124), interest income earned from direct U.S. Treasury obligations — including T-Bills held in your brokerage account — is exempt from all state and local income taxes. For businesses in states with meaningful income tax rates, this exemption can add meaningfully to your after-tax yield.
As your CPA, we ensure this exemption is properly identified and applied on your business tax return — something a fintech platform or self-directed account can never do.
As a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) regulated under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, True North Wealth Management LLC is legally required to act in your best interest at all times. This fiduciary standard is the highest legal standard of care in financial services — higher than the suitability standard applied to broker-dealers and commission-based advisors. Every recommendation we make, every security we purchase on your behalf, and every piece of tax guidance we provide must meet this standard. Our only financial incentive is your financial success.
Your investment advisor IS your CPA. Treasury strategy and tax planning work together — not in silos. No coordination fees, no gaps.
Your T-Bills are held directly in your company’s name — not pooled in a fund. You own U.S. government obligations, not a fund manager’s share of them.
Your T-Bill ladder maturities are aligned to your actual business expenditure schedule — not a generic template. Capital is available when your business needs it.

No. There is no minimum balance required to open accounts at Altruist Financial LLC or to engage True North Wealth Management for cash management advisory. However, the flat advisory fee starting at $1,000/month makes the most financial sense for businesses with $1 million or more in cash reserves — at that level, the incremental return from a structured treasury strategy typically far exceeds the advisory cost.
Yes — for direct U.S. Treasury obligations (T-Bills, T-Notes, T-Bonds). Under 31 U.S.C. § 3124, interest income from direct obligations of the U.S. government is exempt from state and local income taxes in all 50 states. This exemption does not apply to money market funds that invest in Treasuries (only a portion may qualify), which is one reason we prefer direct T-Bill ownership in your brokerage account over a money market fund. As your CPA, we ensure this exemption is correctly applied on your business tax return every year.
Yes. Business cash management is one engagement type within True North Wealth Management’s broader advisory services.
